NEWS and NOTES – 2019 AT KERN COUNTY RACEWAY

OPENING WEEKEND: The weekend of March 15th and 16th will feature racing at both the Dirt Track at KCRP (Friday Night) and on the paved Kern County Raceway (Saturday Night).  It will be the only ‘Double Header” weekend of 2019 that will feature racing on Friday on the dirt and Saturday on the pavement.  There will also be a Friday practice on the pavement.

 

NEW RACE DIRECTOR: Former Kern County Raceway NASCAR Super Stock champion, Johnny Bedingfield will be the new Race Director at Kern County Raceway in 2019. 

 

MORE NEW STAFF: Taylor Weldon now fills a full-time position at Kern County Raceway, focusing his time on competition and marketing.  Taylor has been a Tech Official for both the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series and Kern County Raceway for the past four seasons.

 

LEGENDS TRIPLE CROWN: March 30th, June 29th and September 7th will make up the “2019 INEX Legends Triple Crown” at Kern County Raceway.  Each race will pay $700 to the winner of the main event, $400 for second and $300 for third.  There will also be a bonus paid out to the top three performing drivers in the three races that make up the ‘Triple Crown”.

 

MORE TRIPLE CROWN: The Super Stock teams at Kern County Raceway will also compete in a triple crown format in the Motor City / Holders Super Stock Triple Crown” The “Triple Crown” will offer double the “Winner’s” prize money of $1,000 for each of the three races, and will increase the second and third place awards to $600 and $400 respectively.  Overall best driver in the three events will be awarded new “GM Performance CT350 602 Crate Engine” from Motor city GMC.

 

MUSCLE KINGZ CAR SHOW AND CONCERT:  Coming on April 13th, one of the biggest events in KCRP history, the Muscle Kingz Car and Concert, featuring a full day of one of the best cars shows in the state, followed that evening by a concert performance from Kip Moore, Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots, Parmalee and more. MONSTERS INVADE:  On the weekend of May 18th and 19th, the state of the art Kern County Raceway will transform in to one of the biggest Monster Truck race ways in history, as the All-Star Monster Truck Tour comes to KCRP.

 

FIREWORKS – DOUBLE HEADER:  The annual fireworks show at Kern County Raceway is one of the area’s biggest of the year, for 2019 the June 29th event will for the first time feature the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series and the Spears Manufacturing Modified Series presented by Lucas Oil (formerly the Lucas Oil Modified Series).

 

OCTOBER CLASSIC:  The “October Classic” is a legendary event that was founded at Mesa Marin Raceway in 1977.  For 2019, Kern County Raceway will host the 31st annual “October Classic” which will feature the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series in one big night.

 

NEW PACE CAR:  With Motor City Auto Center’s support in 2019, the Lexus RC3 will now pace the fields to green at Kern County Raceway.
