Kern Raceway to Celebrate Kern County’s 160th Anniversary with “Kern County 160” on March 14

Event to Feature Kern County Native Kevin Harvick and Son Keelan Harvick

Bakersfield, CA — In recognition of the 160th anniversary of Kern County, officials at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway have announced that the Saturday, March 14 event will officially be coined the “Kern County 160.”

The special event name commemorates the county’s founding in 1866 and aligns with the 2026 milestone celebration highlighting Kern County’s legacy of “Feeding and Fueling California.” The event will feature a full night of racing, with multiple divisions competing in tribute to the county’s milestone year.

“Kern County’s 160th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the people, industries and traditions that have shaped our community,” said Kern County District 4 Supervisor David Couch. “Partnering with Kern Raceway to recognize this milestone through the Kern County 160 is a great way to bring residents together while honoring our county’s history and showcasing one of our premier local venues.”

Headlining the evening will be Kern County native and NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick, who will be joined by his son, Keelan Harvick.

“I’m thrilled to be able to help Kern County celebrate its 160th anniversary at Kern Raceway,” said Harvick. “Growing up here shaped who I am, both as a person and as a racer. It’s always meaningful to come home and be part of a night like this.”

The racing program will be headlined by the SPEARS CARS Tour West Super Late Models and SPEARS CARS Tour West Limited Late Models, bringing two of the West Coast’s premier touring divisions to Bakersfield. Additional racing divisions and fan-favorite attractions will round out the evening’s schedule, creating a full showcase of short track competition.

Gates open at 4:00 PM, with racing action beginning at 6:00 PM.

The Kern County 160 is expected to draw competitors and fans from across the region as the community celebrates 160 years of history while showcasing one of California’s premier short-track facilities.
