The CARS Tour West is set to make its return to Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway on Saturday, May 16, bringing another exciting night of short track racing to California’s premier half-mile oval. As the track honors Military Appreciation Night, the men and women who serve and have served are the real stars of the speedway.

Join us at the Track!

With competitive fields, developing storylines, and drivers looking to gain an early advantage in the standings, May 16 at Kern Raceway offers a great opportunity to catch quality racing in person.

Whether you're a longtime fan or making your first visit, it’s shaping up to be a solid night of action on the track.

Fans can look forward to a strong lineup featuring both the Southwest Pro Late Models and Limited Late Models, where drivers will continue building momentum as the season unfolds. The battle for valuable points is taking shape… and every finish matters.

Southwest Pro Late Models

Kyle Keller currently leads the standings, with Robby Sawyer, James Hamlin, Keelan Harvick, and Jaron Giannini all within reach. The top five remain closely grouped, and this race presents another opportunity for drivers to gain ground and position themselves for the months ahead. With a competitive field and limited room for error, fans can expect steady pressure throughout the race as drivers look to capitalize on consistency and smart racecraft.

Limited Late Models

In the Limited Late Models division, Kenna Mitchell holds the points lead, but the margin remains tight. Skyler Schoppe, Tanner Huddleston, Christian Bazen, and Brenden Ruzbarsky continue to keep the standings close, with just 31 points separating the top five. That gap keeps the competition on point, as each driver looks to put together a strong performance and stay in the mix.

Military Appreciation

Presented in partnership with Mission Bank, a proud supporter of the Central Valley and Kern County communities, the event also serves as a tribute to the men and women who serve, adding a meaningful layer to an already high-energy atmosphere.

The night builds toward one of the most anticipated moments of the evening, the Trailer Destruction Race. It’s a full-contact, anything-goes finale where drivers tow trailers into battle, delivering chaos, collisions, and a finish fans won’t forget.
