2026 COMPETITION INFORMATION

 

1. GENERAL COMPETITOR GOVERNANCE

Rules & Sanctioning

​

All division rulebooks are posted on KernRaceway.com under the Competitors section.

• NASCAR and INEX rules apply by division

• All schedules, formats, and procedures are subject to change

 

Licensing Requirements

NASCAR License Required — Drivers in:

• Limited Late Models • Spec Racers • Crown Vics

 

INEX License Required — Drivers in:

• INEX Legends

​

Crew members are strongly recommended to hold a NASCAR and/or INEX license.

​

Pit Passes (Non–CARS Tour West Events)

Saturday

• $40 — NASCAR / INEX Members

• $50 — Non-Members

​

Friday Testing Pit Passes — Free

Testing Fees: • $150 per car — ¼ Mile

• $300 per car — ½ Mile

 

2. FUEL & TIRES

Fuel — Limited Late Models Only

SUNOCO 110 fuel is required for all Limited Late Model competition.

Fuel must be reserved in advance.

Tires — Limited Late Models

Hoosier 980 tires are required for all Limited Late Model competition.

Tire release must be confirmed with Kern Raceway Officials prior to competition.

3. TECH & QUALIFYING REMINDERS

Transponders Required for all on-track sessions:

• Practice

• Qualifying

• Heat Races

• Main Events

​

Duplicate Car Numbers

Duplicate numbers must be approved by Competition Officials.

A minimum 4-inch first initial must be placed behind the door number on both sides.

​

Mandatory Decals

All required series, contingency, and sponsor decals must be properly displayed.

Failure to display mandatory decals may result in:

• Loss of purse eligibility

• Loss of contingency awards

• Disqualification from official results

 

4. TRACK POLICIES & SAFETY

Pit & Infield Regulations

• No BBQs or open flames in pit area

• No personal vehicles in the infield due to space restrictions

• No golf carts, scooters, quads, or bicycles permitted

 

Spotter Communication

Spotters must monitor Race Control at all times.

Minors in the Pits

Permitted only with:

• Completed Minor Release Form

• Adult supervision at all times

• Includes all 12 Limited Late Model events conducted at Kern Raceway

• Includes CARS Tour West Limited Late Model events held at Kern Raceway

• Touring races count toward overall Track Championship standings

 

NASCAR Weekly Series Championship 

• Includes 9 NASCAR-sanctioned Weekly Series races only

• CARS Tour West events do not count toward NASCAR Weekly points
