SEVERAL CHAMPIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN KING OF THE WING FINALE

Several champions from around the country are set to convene on the King of the Wing National Sprint National Sprint Car Series finale

weekend November 9-10 in Southern California. At the conclusion of the weekend a 2019 KOTW champion will be crowned.

Defending KOTW champion Eric Humphries enters the final weekend of competition with a 140-point lead over second place driver Bobby Santos III. Humphries is all but assured a second consecutive championship by virtually competing in the weekend’s events due to such a large point advantage.

The weekend will kick off Saturday night November 9 at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield with the 6th annual George “Ziggy” Snider Classic followed by an afternoon event the following day at Irwindale Speedway. Saturday’s event at Kern will also feature wingless sprint cars and POWRI BCRA midgets on the adjacent ¼ mile dirt track following racing activities on the pavement ½ mile track.

One paid admission ticket will be good for both racing events.

Noblesville, Indiana driver Bobby Santos III has been the hottest driver in KOTW competition to date. Santos III is riding a six race KOTW winning streak and will bea threat to win both events this weekend. Santos III won the first four KOTW events earlier in the season as well as the two season ending California events in 2018. Due to a NASCAR Modified commitment back in September in New Hampshire, Santos III was forced to miss the recent KOTW events at Meridian, Idaho.

Santos III was recently crowned the 2019 Auto Value Super Sprints wingless champion as well as overall champion of the Midwest bases series. Santos III has 7 total pavement sprint car wins this season and trails only Troy DeCaire by one win for the most in the nation. Several Gunslingers drivers who are expected to compete that include newly crowned champion Austin Carter. Justin Kawahata and Justin Segura, who have each won Gunslingers events at Stockton 99 Speedway in 2019, are also expected to compete.

Other drivers expected to compete include Ron Larson, Richie Larson, Hunter Stanley, Allan Beck, Anthony Quintana, Kyle Bergener, Monty Bergener, Audra Sasselli, Chris Muhler, and Mike Anderson are just a few of the many drivers expected to compete.
