FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OPEN HOUSE AND OPEN PRACTICE THIS SATURDAY AT KERN RACEWAY

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (March 12, 2014) - Kern County Raceway Park, fueled by Monster Energy, will open its gates this Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. for the first Open House and Open Practice of 2014.  Race fans, media, and potential sponsors will be welcome into the main grandstands with free admission and free parking, as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series teams practice for their 2014 season.

Practice sessions will be open to all safe cars wishing to test and tune on the paved half-mile, quarter-mile, and one-eighth mile speedways at the state-of-the-art complex west of Bakersfield.

The practices will be the first official on-track activity on the half-mile, after a pair of Winter Series races were held on the smaller tracks in January and February.  Teams in the NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Models, Pro Late Models, Spec-Mods, and Street Stocks will take the track at one of the nation's fastest short track facilities.

Quarter-mile divisions in 2014 will include INEX Legends and Bandoleros, NASCAR Mini Stocks, and the all-new 911 Series.  Jr. and Sr. Mini Dwarfs return for another action-packed year of racing on the one-eighth mile as well.

Team pricing for Saturday's practices will be based off of the Friday night open practice pricing, with details available online at www.KernRaceway.com

In addition to having the grandstands open to watch the practices, fans will also be able to browse the new merchandise for the season, purchase season and single race tickets, and enjoy new items on the concessions menu.

On March 22nd, the fans will be invited into the infield as over 100 classic cars, trucks, and bikes will be on display in the first annual Car Show Spectacular.  The show will have free admission and free parking and includes a burnout contest, live music, race car displays, and a vendor row.  Cars can be registered in advance for $30 or for $35 at the gate.  Registration and setup begins at 6 a.m. with the gates opening to the fans at 8 a.m.

The second Open House and Open Practice will be on Saturday March 29th, as the final prelude before the season opening "DC's RV Center 100" for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour on Saturday night April 5th.
